I just installed my Macs River Runner prop and skeg protector. I headed out to the Detscum River and noticed I lost about 3 mph. I am thinking its the excessive drag from the mount. Anyone own the River Runner or know anyone who has experienced performance loss from it?http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/photopost/data/500/medium/000_0159.JPG

I think you would have to expect a loss of performance. You have increased the drag considerable versus just the normal skeg. I'm surprised it was ONLY 3 mph.

:dizzy: ive got one and yet still ruined a prop and dinged up my new one. it only protects from below. if you run right next to a stump or log you will still whack it. i noticed some power loss but not much. im sure though it still saved me from a few good ones. good luck with it ..
p.s. it likes to catch gravel in it and chew your prop up..:sad:
