Me and my partner went out and popped a quick 2 man limit this evening. US and Queen's side on the Upper. Most on Spoons but the few nicer fish came on Raps. Fished from 6 to 8:45. Also threw back about 10-12 sub-legal Walleye, and several junk fish. Keepers ranged from 15" to 19".

Oh yeah, forgot. That wind and weather was unbelievable.:dizzy: St. Jean parking lot was empty. Boat control was a tad tricky at times, but the fish didn't seem to mind.:D

The only jealousy I have is I'm not going to be in town to keep trying to catch fish.
If you see my son out there in my boat (18 foot Princecraft, 115 Merc) during the next couple of weeks put him on some fish guys. He's having even more trouble catching than I am. I suggested Algonac to him so IFN, Treeman, Walleye Mike, etc. keep an eye out for him. Mike Jr.

Maybe I can get a charter in Portugal next week!

Since when?

They haven't had the American/Canadian limit rule since the mid 80's.

What do you mean Hotwired??? I think either the joke went over my head or I'm just flat our confused :dizzy:

I was just talking about being able to have a 2 days limit in your possesion

Two possesions..........what the? The limit is 6 in Canada, 5 in US, per man, per day. If you have 6 in the boat, and have a Canadian license, dont stop and fish the US side, you will get fined, and they have been out and have been checking.

WOW I just went back to the regs???? Just noticed they changed the possesion rule, when did that happen?????
Used to be you could have 1 daily limit while fishing and posses 2 daily limits total (not caught in the same day of course). Like your daily fishing limit plus a limit in your freezer for example.
That doesn't appear to be the case anymore, don't know how I missed that!

Its been 5 in possesion/daily limit forever.(6 in LSC and SCR) I have an old 1971 reg's booklet and it states just that. You can only have 5 period. That counts on your boat, freezer, garage, anyplace you keep them. I believe salmon you can have 2 limits somehow.

If you have a canuck license and get your limit(6) on Monday and have a Mich. license you can go out on Tues. and get a limit. If you get a Ohio license you can go out in Ohio and get a limit there too. All on different days. You are legal.
You go back out in Mich. on Thurs. and had not consummed any fish, you can not bring more home.

Thats what the law states. This has been discussed here and in the law forum--too death. And if you take the time to read the reg's its all there too.

Was with a CO a week ago. On her radio a report came thru where 2 CO's caught 2 guys with 71 or 91 (can't remember, I was in shock) walleyes down on the Detroit river. Wouldn't want to be those guys.

Nice job FishEater. You're gettin' the wire pullin' down pretty good. Keep it up my man. I'm headin out tonight for the late shift. Gonna start at Belle Isle Bridge around 10 or so and see what happens. Hope the wind dies down, coming from 9 mile that wind can make for an extended journey. :)

No. Still hooked on Cals you guys. They weren't safe this spring. I got my fill back in the first 2 weeks of April. I'm all done with them for the year. My annual routine. Been that way for years. Filled my freezer up with em, (fried some up tonight as a matter of fact, cajun breaded:corkysm55 ) and got enough to last, lets say, quite awhile.;) I moved on to wire-linin 3 weeks ago to catch some Eyes to have some variety. I figured well, its not super hard catchin a bunch of em in the lake in the summer, why not start learnin the river. So far, its payin off. Ya get sick of eatin the same fish every Friday night, ya know.? Gotta mix it up. Rotate Cals and 'Eyes every other. Can't forget Perch to ya know. Nothing wrong with mixin in a cold beer and plate of striped bandits here and there. Yum-yum. Can ya tell I'm a fish eating fool?;):D:lol:
