if you can make it out on the rocks, on the north side of the park cast rapalas and jigs with twister tails and you have a chance to catch smallies and walleye. there are some largemouth along the rocks as well.

My bad - I shoulda read your post s l o w e r...

like JF said, fish those rocks, good bass and what not in the area...Shad Raps works pretty good also...

You can also fish meat on the bottom and catch an assortment of "Junk" fish just to have fun...

there is a place to catch walleye from shore at sterling. its right where the beach meets the rock piles.bring a long casting rod and/or waders if you have them.cast livebait with a sliding sinker or minnow baits as far out as you can. best time is dawn or twilight until midnight.

i will be there sunday and monday site 181 with the boat. i may be able to take you out depending on who tags along.

If you are going to be down there next weekend, I should be going out and should have a spot open. I'll know middle of next week better what my schedule is. Only downside is I've only had the new rig out once, so I haven't got everything set up, yet. Still should catch some fish, though. Hoping to take the family out tomorrow and work out some more changes.

That won't be a problem. Plenty of room on the boat. Right now, I am waiting to see if I will be in Three Rivers turkey hunting. Might have some other business over there, and have yet to be out. Have to fill this tag sooner or later.

Just a warning, so far, no fish in the new boat. 3 outings, 3 strikes. We fished out of Sterling last night. Was a good day, but nothing. We went out too deep, and stayed too long. The guys catching fish were in 18-19' FOW, we were in 23-24. The tangles we had didn't help a whole lot, since I forgot my planars.

the old campground was a swamp. it would flood every rain. the new one is much better , but not much shade.

the boat is a 19.5 lowe . plenty of room for 4-5 people. listed to hold 8.i'll be coming in sunday morning and might just launch. then set up camp when i get back unless i can find an opening for sat. night.
