could some of you experts out there tell me what length leads you use for trolling spoons? I use 15/30 when running raps, but should you use shorter for spoons, thanks

Just like Lure selection, any given day something shorter/longer works. I typically run everything on 15/30. BUT I started running 3 this year 5/15/30 and so far when running spoons I've caught about 80% of my fish on the 5 footer. I've been contemplating swithching to 5/10/20. Then I see the reports that someone else is getting them only on thier 40 footer

I use 5-20-40......most fish coming on the 5 and 20 (right now on spoons).....mostly personal preferance.....I was thinking of trying 15-30's just to make it a little easier on bringing them in.....All the Oldtimers by me that I know run the 20-40's???? so.....as long as your catching fish.....stick with what works!!

Agree, stick with what works. Many, many of the old time river-rats used nothing but 20s and 40s. The 5 foot kicker would be added if the action was slow.

I would be interested to hear how "Wall-llard Willie" does when the leader lengths are changed to 5/10/20. It should be an experiment worth following.
