If a guy was to try his hand jigging off of Wyandotte in his 14ft Mirrocraft what amount of wind would he be willing to go out in and what direction would the best wind be coming from....keeping in mind that I'd rather not get wet :)
I have felt what Lake Erie can hand out in a much bigger boat and know that it would have to be perfectly flat before I'd even attempt to put in down there, but is the river different, and is it different in certain areas?
I'm primarily talking about the area from Zug Island south to Trenton.
I know the limitations of my boat, motor and nerves, and I DO NOT want to be "that guy", which is why I'm asking.

I've been out in some pretty windy days in my 14'. Never had a problem, other than boat control can be tough. Let the water tell you, not the wind. Out of Wyandotte, it isn't too hard to find some protected water. Erie is a whole nuther nut.

i too have a 14 foot boat and i say its mainly about the direction of the wind. A north or west wind the river espically around the dotte, doesnt get to ruff. a south wind on the other hand will really chop up the water and create some rollers if its over 10 mph, and it gets worse as u head towards lake erie.

The worst winds will be againt the current, this will create rough wet ride depending on how hard its blowing. For boat controll I'd say anything above 15 will make things very difficult. You can do it but it becomes a chore instead of enjoyable.
