Got up there on Tuesday night, and it was raining pretty good. We got soaked, but the river was devoid of people, atleast for the first couple hours. We hit two hens, and lost a couple, one of the hens had a salmon grabber in her. We started the next morning at 4am, but nothing going, save for a nice, fat walleye around 20-22", which wasn't our fish. We then changed locals, and wound up hooking and landing a few. Spawn hooked the most fish, with a couple coming on egg patterns, bugs and waxies didn't do much. I also hooked and lost a nice DB on a spoon ran around the gravel, she totally SLAMMED that cleo! The high-water for a few days didn't seem to really change much, but things could be different in a couple days, sometimes they don't show right away. But I'd say for the most part the run hasn't got much left, this may be my last trip, but I say that atleast 3 times a season, before my actual last steelhead outing:D ! Not many people at all on the river. Only seen one cormorant, and I haven't seen nearly as many as the past couple seasons:evil: ...smolts on the other hand are everywhere still, I hope alot of them make it out to the lake. I noticed the other day on the DNR website, that atleast the past two springs they've stocked the smolts at night, that should help some hopefully.
