South Haven 5/17

Followed the Margie B out to 80 FOW. Set lines at 8 AM. Fished mainly south to about the first big dune and then back to about straight out from piers. Zigged out to 102 FOW and back to 85 FOW for most of the day. The Laker came 45 minutes after setting lines. 45 minutes later the first king. Then 2 hours without a touch. Finally had a double hit in 86 FOW and missed both. Marked the spot and kept circling it for the next 2 hours and picked up 5 kings and a steelhead right in that area. Landed two double headers, a real circus with just two of us in the boat.

White F/C yellow insert and yellow fly on dipsy on 3 back 250' took 2 kings and had one other rip.

Fishlander Blue Whale Magnum glo down 80' took 2 kings and we lost another at the net.

Same set up as above also took a 10.45# Laker down 50'

Double orange crush ProKing on a free slider took 1 king. Main line down 65'

Yellow tail on slider took 1 king, main line down 75'.

Brass backed Watermelon took a Steelhead on a free slider, main line down 80'

Dipsy on 3 back 200' with a green dolphin took one rip, but no fish.

The way the weather sounds this may not help anyone, but good luck and tight lines.

Quit fishing about 1 PM, without hearing one radio transmission!

The Laker was largest at 10.25#, kings ran from #4 to about 8#. Average about 6# I'd guess.
