Guys-just wanted to ask if anyone has been doing well with certain colors on crawler harnesses this year? Last year at times it didnt matter but especially after the rains didnt know if bright or dark would be best. I know the winds/weather have not been good the past week but just need a little help. Hoping to get out this weekend, not sure if going "east" or "west" to give it a shot. Thanks.

It can vary at time throughout the same day and depending on the cover/ depth you are fishing and definitely from one body of water to another. I'd start with chartreuse and go from there.

chart., orange, purples, reds have all been good colors. sometimes the bead string is right, you just need to swap out a silver blade for a gold, etc....good luck.

Probably gonna try and head out Friday after work-weather permitting and then hopefully Saturday morning. The blade change was something that we tried last year. Purple was a hot color for us later in the summer but with all the rain, I figured I'd start with Gold Blades on a few and Chartreuse on others. Then worry about speed and go from there. Honestly I think beads come into play more with clear water than the dirty stuff we got going right now in the Bay.

I use quick change clevises. Start with as many diff. blades as rods in water till something pops. Will then change to 2 of that color, if that blade still is working I will put out 3. But I will keep 1 rod that I will keep changing colors on trying to find a color that the fish might pop before they slow down on the hot color. It can sometimes cut down on a fishless period when the fish quit hitting the hot color.
