I would never do this and hate to be a bum, but you don't know if ya don't ask :help:

I am on vacation from work this week and planned to hit Erie with a buddy one day. We usally put in at Bolles and stay in Mi. waters.

Well, he basically tells me at the last minute he put his boat in somewhere else and is not heading down there .

I Just don't have the boat for that type of water yet, but plan to in a few years. I am just wondering if anyone could use some company  I always provide money for boat fuel, bait, beverages, whatever.

I know the weather forcast for this week is crummy, but I don't mind a little rain, the wind is a different story though.

Take care and thanks guys

Tom -

Will not be able to take ya out this week and we will be heading to Put-In-Bay for my bachelor party, but I bet we would be able to take you out on Reel Naughty this summer sometime soon. We have tournies on the lake the follwoing weekend and then I am getting married the first weekend of June. We usually stick to around West Sister area this time of year and fish Ohio waters...we will move to Sterling and fish Stoney Point later in June and July...Let me know, I am sure we will have room...

Nope, not so, pick the right one and neither problem. As proof, my wife spent most of Sunday with me, picking up the new fishing boat. 5 hrs in the car to get a boat on Mother's Day. It's all in the choosing. :)

I'd have to agree, got mine to fish in the rain with me for about 4 hours the other weekend. Not to mention, she's the one that convinced me to buy my bass boat last year! It IS all in the choosing.

My wife was a dream companion too, until the 2 little ones. She would fish with me in the rain and wind for salmon, walleye, etc. Went bird hunting with me, and we were fitting her for a shotgun, then...:smile-mad
She is relatively tolerant of my outdoor pursuits, but the fact that I work 2 jobs, 6-7 days a week, I guess she has to give a little leeway.

I took the mule skinner out today, we had a blast huh Tom. After a slow start we started catching. And we caught and caught and had to cull through 8 sublegals that went back but we did manage a four man limit of 20 by just after noon....good fun!!.....ANDY

[qu:sad: ote=fire-tiger]Financial and recreational suicide!!! Don't do it!![/quote] All in fun boys!! I have been lucky enough to have been married to the same wonderful woman for nearly thirty years. Five sons and one daughter together. Early in the marriage we did alot of fishing and hunting together, then the kids came along and we were busy, busy, busy!!

Now we get alot more free time and she isn't so interested in the great outdoors anymore, but she always understands my passion for it.

(Ahartz - great job on sharing the ride!!)

Congrats to all of you, on the fish and the offering of the ride. I think it's pretty cool that you asked and got the ride. If I was out and had a better idea on what I was doing I would take you along. I'd hate to just take you for a boat ride and no fish.:p

As someone who has been on the recieving end of such a favor , you guys will never know just how much it means to us guys , that don't have the equipment ( boats/gear ) , or knowledge. A hundred " THANK-YOU's " still don't seem like enough.
I've been taken out twice by friends. Once on Saginaw Bay ( we caught about 100 eye's ) , and once on Lake Erie ( caught 15 eye's ). Believe me , neither of those trips will ever be forgotten !
Thanks guys , for helping others. It is greatly appreciated !

Great job Andy. I wanted to buck up and offer a ride, but other commitments have me out of the water until Friday at the earliest, and likely not even then. Have had nothing but good experiences meeting, fishing, and hunting with folks from the board.

I have tried a few other trips but the mule skinner seemed like a good guy on the phone and a fellow state employee can't be all bad...ok I take that last part back, but tom was cool. I would offer that anyone else thinking about taking someone out should do it. call the guy, talk on the phone..your hunch is likely right and mine about tom was right on. payin' it forward...andy
