I fished this morning with Rat City Hooker, and TCampbell30 from the site and one of his buddies out of Ludington this morning. We wern't expecting much with the wacky weather recently but decided to give it a go. Lake was calm and water temp was pretty steady between 42 and 46 wherever we went and Larry's new speed and temp told us the water column was the same everywhere. We put together a pattern called "put down as many rods as you can and drive around a while" well it seemed to work on these very scattered fish. Picked up 2 small kings somewhere between 40 and 60 foot of water and drug them around awhile on the cores. They took a blue dolphin and a green jamacia sunrise. We heard someone say they had a few out deep so we pulled lines and went to 120. We got a double on steelies at 140 on a half core with a black raspberry and a high line mono with a snap weight on a orange bomber. The last fish was was a 13 lb king down 45 on the rigger with a blue dolphin again. Lots of fun on a surprisingly good day. Thanks Larry for the boat ride.

Thanks Lyle for the pictures and the details of our meager catch.
Due to the weather conditions we where glad to keep the black kitty out of the boat.
The highlights of the morning where when Lyle grabs the rigger pole for the largest king while we are untangling three lead core rods.
The best was when the two steelies came as a double.:D
Thanks Lyle,Tim and Ben for a great morning of fishing.

What kind of line are you guys using? Do you go light tackle on the downriggers to make the fight better? Nice job on the fish!

I fish with Larry frequently and can attribute most of his success to his secret program. When things get tough and the bite is light Larry likes to run his lead core really close together so they get all twisted up . While we work on getting the birds nest untangled ,it`s almost a lock that we will have a good sized fish nail one of the remaining lines. Sorry to give up the secret. So next time you are pulling in a tangle just tell everyone you are running Larry`s program. :evilsmile

Hey I've used that secret trick too. A nice added touch is to make sure that it gets twisted into the prop as well.
