It has been quite a while since I have posted anything. Anyhow, I have finally gotten out a few times. Today I hit a little stream on a short stretch that has always treated me well. Today was no exception. I started with Rapalas, but ended up using a homemade spinner for the bulk of the morning. Silver with orange hair trailer, about size 3. A lot of gorged browns slashed at it, but only a few could bring themselves to connect. I lost a pig that was somewhere between 18-20" :yikes: at my feet and had several high teen chasers. I kept one 10" male that took the hook too deep. He's about to become a dinner guest in a minute here.
It seems that the rain we got raised the water way up, but this particular stretch was just a touch above normal with a slight stain. The fish all had huge bellies, and the Mondo was actually reguritating as he fought, several worms went every which way as he shook his head in defiance and finally flipped me the fin. I hope everyone is having a great year so far and getting out to fish/enjoy the outdoors. Take care.
