Where was everyone??

Launched at St. Jean at 5AM today. Headed straight for the drift below Belle Isle Bridge. Had my limit at 645. They kept on biting until I left at 1030. I stopped counting, but I must have landed 25. It did not matter what you showed them, they were hitting aggressively on plastics or minnows. Used the standard 5/8 chartruse jig with a stinger. Half the fish took the jig half on the stinger.

Did the threat of rain keep everyone away? All morning there was two other boats on that drift, it was like being out there on a weekday. The other boats were having as much fun as I was. Will be out again in the AM.

I'm picking up the new boat tomorrow, should be ready to go Monday. Spent today helping at WWOW. Was worth missing a day of fishing.

Went out again this AM. Took awhile to find where they were at. Had a limit and off the water at 930. Mostly just up from the USCG. They were pickier today preferring a plain Detroit worm from Moes' on a Chartruse 5/8. Very little wind, visibility still about 3'. Talked to one other who had his limit drifting crawlers. Only a dozen or so trailers at St. Jean.
