Well both you guys posted so I guess I'll be the third Amigo.
tcampbell guess if you had a job you wouldn't be poor and could have a boat.
good luck this weekend. I'm gonna catch alot of budlight fish. Most of them are not real big as far as size goes. Around 12oz seems to be the average size.
great Idea on the new forum:)

Finally..a place for people without the 40 footer.
Can y'all educate a new comer to the piers on the general info.
- Catching the alewifes
- set ups
- what is considered best times of the year to hit them
Will be heading to the west side mostly ludington and north
Or may hit the thumb at times.
Thanks again

I'd suggest that you post your questions in a new thread in this forum where it'll get more "looks".

I too agree, this forum is a good call. I've got 17' aluminum now but I still prefer to fight salmon or steel from a pier. Like A-S, Jeremy and Stel have all mentioned in the past, there's nothing, just nothing, like having a big fish smack and spool you in the middle of the night on a pier while slow-retrieving a spoon or body bait. The Reefers are getting themselves ready for the lake to turn, bring it. :yikes:
Good call, Steve, once again.

I keep watching the 10 day forecast for the west side and all I've seen for a while now is West wind, South wind, SW wind.........come on already! N, NE, or East at 25-30mph would warrant a celebration.

Until the reports start naming the specific pier and you have to start getting to the pier at 3:00 am just to find a spot. Unlike the lake, there is only so much room on a pier, start posting results viewed by thousands and that room can dry up quickly.
Spend a little time on the site and a pier dosn't have to be named for a member to know where the fishing was taking place. I have alway preferred specific reports regarding the piers through PMs, though this would be a good spot to share tactics, tips on equipment, etc.
Not a real problem for me, it's a 15 minute drive. If the pier is full there are other options, which I think I will take advantage of right now.:)
