Now that steelhead season is over for me I want to start doing sections of the North Country Trail on my mountain bike. The first section I did was very pleasant. I'd like to camp at Bowman Bridge and called the USFS in Cadillac and they said the latest update recieved had it opening by Memorial Day. I went through the camp and they have a lot of work to do but they are hauling the logs off. The posting at the site said it was a "wind storm" but this was clearly a tornado because of the narrow path. The North Country Relay (a running race that starts in Mesick) finishes at the campground which is how I first went there. It's a nice place.
