Went out with a good friend to chase some kings around. Ran out to 120 and set line winds out of the nnw with 2 foot chop. A number of boats straight out from the piers, we decided to work south with the waves while setting rods. First hit on 5 colors at 135 on a magnum mixed veggies was a 8 pound king. Second hit was on 3 colors with a 3 ounce snap weight on a magnum watermelon spoon. 8 pund king. Turned back north west and had no hits for a while. Turned back with the waves and imediately had a dipsy screaming 200 back on 2 setting with a blue spin doctor and a blue bubble fly. 12 pound king. Had about and 1/2 hour lull swung back around with the waves again and had a rigger go at 85 feet fish hit a fixed slide, thought we had a hog on and brought got it to the surface and there was two fish on. One on the slider and one on the main line. 5 lb king on the slider 9 lb king on the main. Mag blue dolphin and reg blue dolphin on the Fixed slider. As we are netting the 2 fish at one time, other rigger goes off at 55 foot with a proking and we had a 10 lound laker on. Got him in the net. Had two more hits on rigger at 85 down on Mag blue dolphin and landed both of those fish. 7lb king and a 9 lb king. Released the 7 pounder back to fight another day. And headed for the house at 11:30. Ended up 8 for 8 and Cleaned 7 fish. Best fishing for use was 148 to 158. With a very unusual "perch style double header" great day and excellant fishing. Pretty amazed by the number of boats running up from the south that were fishing in the Michigan City Touney. 30 Mile run for those boys. I think most of them launched out of New Buffalo that ran up here. But the fishing was certainly hot off of St. Joe this week.
