With bad reports comming in from handliners this year, are things getting better lately? The last couple of times out on the SCR I've done real well. Last night I was getting fish immediately after dropping my line down. I saw alot of other wire pullers last night. I'm interested to know how others are doing trolliing.

My brother-in-law and his crew caught 15 fish wednesday night.
I will know if my slump is over this evening. :D I have not been out since last saturday. From what I hear things are or should have improved.

It's been good for me since monday night. Hopefully it will stay that way despite the cooler weather coming.

Took my wife for her 1st trip ever Wednesday, fished for about and hour and a half and got 3 (she got her first). That was better than I had been doing. Went again last night and ended up with 8 from 9:30-11:30. Chartruse & White was the ticket and SHALLOW water. All of them were caught in 7-15 foot of water except one. Be back out tonight in Wyndotte.

Trenton Channel. Well, we had to work for our 10 fish last night (Friday 5/5/06). Started out about 7pm...slow, changed raps and spoons until we started to get them going on clown size 7 and 9. Caught 3 or 4 on clown....slow.....switching colors, tried pencil plugs hard, many different colors..nothing on pencil plugs, By 11:30 we had only 5 in the box (4 and a half hours of trolling). Blue rapalas started to shine, by 1:30 we had our ten, probably the last 5 wre on original blue and the newer blue chrome.
Silver bass were pretty steady...the biggest was 1lb, 10oz. We caught maybe 30 silver bass, couple of rock bass too.
Surprising to me about no pencil plug action, last trip I believe all fish were on pencil plugs.

I know and have the Silver/Blue Back original Floater, but Blue Chrome? I can't find the Floater in a Blue Chrome anywhere.

I was going to post a link to rapala.com for to show the blue chrome. Interesting the site doesnt show the original floater in blue chrome. Maybe ran for a few years and then discontinued? Same could be said for clown. Not listed there as an option for the original floater.
Shad raps come in blue chrome. If you go to rapala.com check them out.

There is a big difference between blu/sil chrome (plastic) and blu/sil (wood) both floating. the wood blue and silver Will out produce. JMO>
Handling is doing well. spoons in the day, raps at night. first light spoons at the rooster tail is a good bet.
