While fishing the Joe last Sunday, I had a rough time keeping my motor at low idle while trolling. Checked the plugs afterwards, and found the electrodes quite rounded off. My partner suggested Split tail plugs. I had never heard of 'em. Anybody out there have any opinions on them? Lets hear 'em all, good and bad.
Not worth the extra money in my opinion. I don't think they will make your motor run any better or any worse, they just cost more. Also you may find it difficult to find them to fit your outboard.
Two strokes are hard on plugs. I always carry an extra set with me just in case, and I always change them twice a year whether they need it or not. I use NGKs or champion marine grade. Never had any problems with either brand. Make sure they're gapped right:)

Thanks Erik, I've never had any problems with using the marine grade Champions. I just neglected to check the plugs on the maiden voyage this year so the subject came up on the split tails. I will most likely stick with what I've been using for the past 12 years. Thanks again.
