Fished last night from 7pm till 10:30pm off the holland pier. We went 2 for 5 (yes we had bad luck in getting the fish on the pier)

first frish
16 pound king on a 3/4 green yellow KO wobbler

Second fish
6 pound jack King on Copper and orange cleo

Now to the fish we lost

????? King on copper and orange cleo 3/4 oz

????? king on Blood nose 3/4 oz cleo

????? king????? never saw it on 3/4 green and silver cleo

We also saw one walleye caught at 10 pm. Tried to fish this morning but on a few hours sleep and a north west wind i made it about 2 hours before i said forget it..

1 hit on green and yellow 3/4 cleo

Hope this helps:)

You guys should have run glo-spoons once it got dark, it may have put a couple more fish on for you, regardless nice job.

I am thinking about giving it a try this evening. Have you guys had any luck using spawn?

I caught 1 fish on spawn this year that was it... I would check the water temp and if its in the low 40-50 you might, just might find a lost fish in the shallows. The best for us has been a green and Yellow 3/4 wobbler.
Hope that sheds some light ...

For some reason glow spoons at night did not produce this spring... We tried it a few nights with no luck.
Bloody nose 3/4 cleo right as it got dark was hot about 2 nights and then nothing....so its been hit or miss as I have said

Much the same lack of luck on spawn this spring. Countdown rapalas took most of my fish.... minnows even did better than spawn.

Zob,
That's what you get for moving out of a fishing state into the desert! ;)

If you ever get back here for a visit, give me a holler. Bigger boat and ready to fish!

You scared me with stories of a 12 foot boat on Erie.... hopefully, you've upgraded to at least a 16!!!!!!!

Still working at the ol' VC???

Last but not least, are you lost? What's a warmwater guy doing in this forum...

Nah, it was a 14' and the new one is 19' and a deep V instead of a semi v.

Not lost, just getting back into the cold water, now that I have a bigger boat. I grew up fishing salmon on Huron in and around Alpena. Actually did it so much I got tired of it and stopped for a few years. Going to be doing some this year, though.

Sorry, missed that last night. Nope, transferred back to the big blue oval in January. Rode it out just long enough.
