Steinfishski called yesterday and said he had a job in GH today, and had time to fish in the AM. Just enough of an incentive to get me off my large butt and get the boat ready. We got my boat wet, the motor started and off we went. Fished out of GH, put down the first rod shortly after 9:30 and before the 2nd rod was in the water, 1st rod went off:D . Landed a 6# steelhead on a yellowtail at 30, the skunk was out of the box. Probably the fastest I'd ever gotten the skunk out on a shakedown cruise. Got the rods down, wandered north then turned back. We were running a new 3-color that had never been wet, I said I wanted to catch one on it and lo and behold, a decent fish ripped it and Stein brought it to net. Before we finished that pass, a dipsy back 50 went off. Two 10# chinooks in the box, one on a hawg wild and one on a DOC. One more rip on the 3 color/hawg wild and 1 shaker on slider with a home taped goldies sister-kind of thing. Fished in 35-48 FOW. Picked up before 12:30 and I sent Stein off to his job site:lol: . For me, definitely a satisfying shakedown cruise with good company.

Nice job guys! Tim is getting good at those shake down cruises.

Tim probably made you take all the fish home ... right?? Let me guess ... he couldn't let them sit in the car all afternoon? Heard that one two weeks ago ... LOL.

Have next week off, will have to be a balance between the weather, turkey hunting, and fishing.

Thanks again Matt for bringing me along.:) A quick fish before work is always a good thing and a very nice shakedown I must say. Fishing the bankers hours is pretty easy on the constitution too. Nothing happening on the deeper 5-7 color cores, J-plugs or spinny today. In fact Matt's side took all of the fish today, I even tried to switch diver rods on him too and he still took a fish on his diver.

Jim, waves were 2 foot from the west and switched to north around 2 foot as we got started so it was cool, and a bit lumpy to start, settled down a bit, then picked up from the NW before we left with whitecaps and 2-3 footers. We had pretty steady action until that NW kicked in.

Never mind Tom.:help: There were only a couple other boats out and they all left before we did so there were no altercations today. LOL

Nope Ed after last time I really wanted a king for the table so I DID bring my cooler this time and took one home.:D It grilled up nice for dinner:corkysm55 mmm fresh salmon.
