C'mon Semo,
Let's get to the later hours at St. Jean that you promised when the weather got warmer.
I know guys that won't use it during the week because they have to be out by 9pm so Alter Rd. is getting your money and I know more guys are using it during the week and leaving by 9pm unhappy.
With the way fishing has been I know your PROFITS are way up.
Put your PR background in your back pocket and jump on board with the fisherman.
The hours should be 5am to 11pm or 12pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thusday.
Also 5am on Friday to 11pm or 12pm on Sunday continious.
We did our part NOW do YOURS.
If you wan't to discuss it further call me at 586-246-1905. (Curt)
I'm on a mission this year and I won't let this rest.
We want our ramp back!

They need to extend those little docks before someone gets hurt. Or damages their or someone else's boat. By the time I got my truck and trailer back to the ramp my boat was sitting sideways against another guys boat. And I'm glad I carry waders in my truck. I had to walk into the water to hook up my boat. Then back the trailer up again to get the bunks under water. Boat up uagainst the dock sideways again.
It didn't help matters that two anal sphincters were laying around waiting for someone and didn't have the sense to offer some help.
All they need to do is get some floating docks attached to the end of the existing docks.

We were going to make a trip to St. Jean last tuesday at around 4pm for an evening outing when I realized that maybe we should call ahead to find out when the attendant would be leaving. We were told that there were only three trailers in the lot and that the attendant would be gone by 9PM.
I know that H.H. has made some pretty good $$ in the last month from the amount of traffic they have had on the weekends alone. Like Hot-Wired said, H.H. it's time to live up to it and provide some service now that the warm weather is here. H.H. has at least $150.00 of mine already this year. I knew I should have bought a pass!!

Totally agree, HW.
St. Jean's takes, and takes, and takes (at TEN BUCKS a crack)
When is it time to give back?
I like the launch myself, but I don't like having to leave the Ren Cen area at 8:30 to get back to the launch in time.
Hell, the sun hasn't even completely set yet and I gotta "go home."

do you know if there is a number to call to check on hours. i was there last friday and they were open til midnite. planning on going tonite.
as someone mentioned earlier, it would be nice to see them extend the docks a bit. particularly for when the wind is blowing.

you know, i just went there for the first time with a buddy and was dumbfounded how short those docks were. i'm leary of using it myself only because of that fact.
you have a primary launch on the northern part of the river, the more you cleanup, extend ramps and guard times the more fisherman that will use it.. period. the detroit river has one of the greatest walleye fisheries of the great lakes that is a primary ramp used by tournoments and local anglers as well as out of towners.
that ramp is a gold mine launch site, it should be treated like one. guard it, keep it open and extend those docks!
if you need wood/barrels ect give us a list! i'm sure alot of anglers would donate a piece of wood for new docks!

Think about this guys. If the docks were longer then when a guys ties his 22' up it would stick out and not let 2 boats pass between the back of his boat and the seawall across from the docks, remember this is half the launch it used to be before Tommy Hearns & Porterfield Wilson (RIP) screwed it up.
When I come in I tie my front to the front cleat and my back to the back cleat and if it's not too busy I back the trailer on the other side and pull the boat around.
I've used these docks fo 20 years launching by myself 75% of the time and it gets easier with practice.
Let's work on the hours with secutity first and then worry about the dock lenghts cuz if it ain't open it don't matter how long they are. :)

Hey guys-
Starting Monday, May 8, 2006, the boat ramp will be open until 11 pm instead of 9 pm Sunday through Thursday. The hours Friday and Saturday will still be until midnight.
What if we tried to keep the boat ramp open from Friday at 5 am until Sunday at Midnight, how many of you would be interested?
Thanks Again.

i am all for the extended weekend hours. as i understand you Semo, it would mean the launch is open continuously from 5 am friday until 12am sunday.
that said, will there be a guard there at all times? if not, when will the guard be there? i have been broken into there before, and don't want it to happen again!
