Well I think this weekend I am planning on taking my girlfriends 6 year old boy out for his first ever fishing trip, I have been fishing the river, but cant expect him to handline or jig, I want to take him out for some perch where we can anchor or drift, and hopefully he could catch something, he is so excited, thats all I hear every day is when we going fishin, he has traded his toys for playing with his tacle box, and looking at his lures..............I may have created a monster:lol: Do any of you guys have a suggestion for a spot to take him, I dont want gps cord. just a general spot would be great. I have been so focused on the walleye, I am not sure really where to go. Thanks for the help.

Haven't heard much on the perch on LSC....but I would venture that the gills will be staging right about now....Along with the smallies too...Water may be pretty muddy from the E wind...Haven't been out in awhile, so I'm not sure.

If the water has cleared up you might try just north of Beacon Cove Marina in 9-10 FOW. There will be weed beds that are just trying to grow and you probably won't catch big ones you may find enough 7-8" to keep the boy interested. I assume from your address that you will be fishing the west side of LSC ?

Thanks guys, yes, I will be fishing the west side, I have a boat down at the foot of alter, so I have access to the south shore too, I use to do good around Pikes Creek, Puce River area, this time of year, but I have heard nothing about those areas yet this year.
