Taking the big boat out on SCR tomorrow. Gonna try a few things while jigging to stay vertical as possible. If all else fails, I'll drift crawler harnesses. Will be on Channel 68, 22' Crestliner with 3 guys aboard.

Poor results from jigging so we drifted for a short time. No results there either.

The boat drifted OK with little or no wind. Got to get a kicker on there or an electric. Or just kicking the big motor in and out (thats a pain)

Mike, no fish because the bite was off or no fish because you struggled in the big boat?

No problems with the boat. Drifted pretty good. Little or no wind early. A little breeze later in the morning. Bite for the most part seemed off.

I got 3 fish this morning and then the bite slowed. Fished from about Minnichs canal down to the boat launch in 39 to 41 ft of water. Saw some other boats out that did better and some not as good. Bite slowed after a couple of hours and the boats that were piled up in that area scattered. Fish are a little bigger now. Lost a couple of good ones on the way up. Met "walleye" from the lsc forum. He had a 27 incher that went 6 lbs 13 oz.

Jim, I started out towards willow point and drifted to locust point. Saw a couple caught around the restaurant. Moved down where you were but nothing by then.

Good luck with the new boat. I have the same problem with mine but I can't put a kicker or electric so I am a member of the 45 degree club. LOL. It will be a great boat for crawler harnesses.

Walleye Mike- What lauch did you use to get your 22 ft boat in the water. I have only launched my 20 ft from Algonac once and used the launch across from DQ. Thought it was kind of tight. Is there a better launch in Algonac?

Used the DNR launch down by Farmer Jacks. Got to trim way up. Bettcha I was real close to scraping the boat on the bottom. Some parts there are 18"-24" deep.

Where is Willow Pointe and Locust Pointe?

Willow point= the point just at the southern end of the state park. (group of willow trees at the point)
Locust point= the point where the south channel splits with the north channel. Just at the north end of Algonac.

There are acually points or tips of land that are easily noticable.
