Saginaw area. River or bay. Live or artifical.
Conficting reports. The rivers are good! The spawing is done. The bay on worm harnesses. The river on crankbaits. River high, bay low.
Dont know.
What has everyone heard?
Thanks,
sean

Try it all. Be a leader, not a follower. That's what I do. I see a pack of boats, I go the other way. If everyone is using 1 thing, change up and use something else. You'd be surprised how many times I've used small baits and did great as everyone else was using big baits.

Funny you should say that , a lot of guys will ask me if the eother guys are gettin' em - or if I was watching them....
I almost ALWAYS say : "I don't know , I was concentrating on my own stuff here...."
GOOD POINT.

Humm…not techniques or where fish live. I was wondering if anyone has heard if spawing is really done in the rivers or if the bay has been stirred up do to the rain and made it slow going. Is there a log at Center street making it impossible to get through. Stuff like that.
I apologize if my question didn't come across more clearly.
I'm trying to narrow my choices down and looking for the variables that I dont know about.
Thanks

The main spawning on the Flint River was over a couple of weeks ago as far as I could tell. Things are definitely ahead of last year. I just stopped at Gander on the way home and bought an eight dollar crank bait that I'm betting on for tomorrow.

No, your question was very clear. Many feeding 1-4 pound males should be still in the River but concentrate your effort in the very lower stretches and even try just outside of the mouth...

Well, went out of my comfort zone and hit Saginaw river, thinking bigger water bigger fish. Caught 1 in one hour and half. I've seen minnows bigger than that walleye. Packed up and hit immerman. Went 20 for 21. Nothing over 1 1/2 lbs. Was a blast. My son how has fished with me for 3 years and never caught one. He's now nine and just out fished me.
Would like to get some bigger ones :D .
Brother-in-law picked up a 24 in. near state street bridge.
There in there, but far and few between. They ended up packing it in and hitting the bay at about 6:00am. Never picked one up out there.
Have fun.
