I usually don't mix lines - but I know you guys do.
How about some guidance for someone that could use some??

Sorry if this was posted before , but I'm not able to search much currently!
TIA!!

Uni to Uni works well.

If you are going to use it as a leader, use a swivel.
Other wise use a blood knot and lube it well be fore cinching it.
EDIT:
Oops Yeah the Uni to Uni is what I use...Don't know why I said blood.

I use a uni to uni to connect my leaders and have NEVER had a knot break on me.

the UNI, I've fought fish with the backer out and have never broke it.

I tie an over hand knot... then pass the tag ends back thru the loop of the overhand knot before cinching it tight. I can't pull it apart. I think it's called a surgeons knot.

In the Prower Pro box I think it states to use 7 or 8 wraps on the PP and 5 -6 on the mon.
Someone correct me if I am wrong. I don't want to give bad info. I am think I am right on this one though.
Uni to Uni works well.

Yup use the uni to join them and as mentioned more wraps on the thinner diameter line. There another knot on the little sheet from Power Pro ... but, I'm not smart enough to figure that one out.
SFW, If you are rigging what I think you are rigging .... use a small swivel in between the two as mentioned before. Use a Polimer (sp?) knot on both ends. That is what I have on the 'Rappin Stick'.

I agree with Waterfowl. The Double Surgeon knot works well for adding a leader. Bob

Thanks to ALL you guys , Tim especially for being so quick on the draw.
I was @ the shoppe when I posted this and was running a short cycle time of parts and really couldn't search very effectively online for the answers everybody so quickly provided !

Talked to WF yesterday on the phone & I agreed that the surgeon's is a good knot - just didn't know if it would work well for a braid/flouro combo.
I used the Uni on trolling reels with two different diameters of mono ...
Ed: I have already tied up some SpiderWire 20# 2 foot leaders with a #12 dual loc snap and #12 barrel swivel on the other end , and I'll be pitchin' the 'X' factor with Regular 8# Yo-Zuri ...
I am using Yo-Zuri HyBrid as a few yards of backer & 20# SpiderWire ; rigging a 7' GM Med. Competitor Graphite Spinning Rod W/ Shimano CX2500RB that will be used for mostly vertical poundin' ...
I guess the ole UNI will work for me , since we all know Stein's joined a few different type of lines a time or two and he's fast -so he get's the nod....

Hi Ken!
How's it goin'???????????
I'm not sure what will happen this coming year - but you bet I'll keep ya in mind. Of course your input is valued , even if ya were late on the draw - coming from somebody like you , I'd be foolish NOT to consider what you have to offer.
;)
If things happen to work out , what do we do with the fish??
C&R??
I still have a few in the deep freeze all VaC Pac'd.
