I've had it with my Shimano Sedona. It litterally EATS bail arms. I am on my 4th bail arm... the line simply eats a groove in them which in turn frays the line. This latest one has caught just 4 fish... it was brand new when I caught the first one... courtesy of Shimano (they sent me 3 of them for free... think they know they have an issue with this reel??). Well, I've used all 3 now, and the one that came on it when purchased for a total of 4 arms in less than 2 years. Unacceptable. The newest one already has a groove in it.

So I'm looking at reels at Gander Tuesday and I pick up the Kinetic 200 spinning reel. Interesting bail arm... there is NO WAY the line can go anywhere but onto the roller. Add in the titanium bail wire and magnetic trip and this looks like a good reel for 79.99 (I checked everywhere on the net and everyone has them priced the same). I have a $10 gift card to Gander... so It would cost me $70.

Anyone have any experience with these reels? I'm leaning towards the 300... simply for the line capacity.

Mike

I've got a quantum cataylst pti-20 and love it! the kinetic isnt much diffrent, if your between the 20 and 30 it just depends what you are using it for and what pound test you plan to use.
