View Full Version : The TR-1
Anybody out there using this system, I've seen one work and they are great. Question is, is anybody using one that is hooked into their GPS ???.

I've used a Tr-1 for a number of years and wouldn't be without one. They pay for themselves, believe me!
Go with a 4 stroke kicker and the unit gives you throttle control as well as heading control.
Use the gps link and you'll be amazed at what you can do.
One example, by setting a route between 2 waypoints and cranking up the gain on the TR-1 (this is done with the 2 buttons
on the bulkhead control) the Tr-1 will use the straight line between waypoints as a reference but snake back and forth across that imaginary line.
Try that when you're alone or have doubles and triples going on
Erie and you'll appreciate the unit.
River rats ,both trollers and handliners can get a lot of use out of the unit as well.

One thing I forgot to mention----the unit works equally well whether you're forward or "back trolling".

The TR-1 is an autopilot unit for kicker/trolling motors. Its been around for while but its not cheap.

A friend of mine has one on his 25' Pursuit. I had the the pleasure of using it for the first time when we were hand lining for walleye on the Detroit River last April. Just set your trolling speed and your heading and have at it.
Brings back memories! 2 boats, 8 guys and 180+ walleyes in 5 days of fishing. I cannot wait until spring now.
