In the past 3 days a mom and pop shop sold the new chatterbaits for 6.99, a friend just bought the last one that Gander had and he paid 7.99!!!

Another example of people looking past the mom and pop shops assuming that they were sub par to the box stores. Open your eyes folks!!!

Oh I agree. Some people are VERY cool and if you get to know them well they might even cut you a deal. Heres another fine example....Can't think of the name but, it's the store/bait & tackle shop on your way in to Tawas. THEY RULE!!! They hook you up with a butt load of greys..well over a dozen...for $2.00 and they had virtually ALL of there tackle for 40% off!! Picked up some Cleos, Krocs, and Hot 'n Tots for like $2.10 a piece.

i always check them first, i dont run around looking for deals if i need it i buy it, but its nice to save also, but i love the mom and pop shops:D

I agree If I need it I buy it. Deals are nice but I don't have time to go all over mid mich and with gas this high is it worth it?

i'd have to go with the mom & pops, you become a regular and you get treated right and proper, although i could,nt afford, especially with the gas prices nowadays, to drive 20 or 30 miles to get to one.
