So what you think its going to take to win it this year? Around 57 lbs im thinking. Any thoughts on where it might be won, river or bay? Don't need any honey holes, just wondered what you guys were thinking? Last year I fished the bay and could only catch 3-4 lbers. Doesn't mean the aren't there though. Goodluck to all.

I think the winner will come out of the bay, and will be over 50 lbs. The water temp in the rivers is warm and most of the pigs have spawned and are gone back to the bay. I'll be fishing the Titt. trying to catch a limit of eaters. Good luck to all.

My mother-in-law turned ours in at Pats in Freeland. We will be hitting the bay early Saturday morning. Hopefully be weighing in a huge basket at the park around 4:00.

The biggest fish will probably come from the bay vs. the river. Unfortunately, with a tourney such as this with no livewell check, no boundries, drive-in weigh in, and dead fish accepted, a few cheaters will probably already have their first 5 fish culled and on ice by tomorrow. I think I'll sit this one out. Best of luck to all who enter, and I hope there is an honest winner.

Gander mountain-saginaw, ace hardware-midland, pats and the hardwear store in Freeland.
I was thinking 50lb + will be the top 5. I've have placed 3 times in the last 5. And its tough.
Not exactly sure where I'm going yet. I'm a river rat, but bigger water make bigger fish. And with the warmer weather and water, things will be different than the last few. Be running cranks, with live bait at the waiting.
Have fun and be safe.

…hope there is an honest winner.
From the rumors, how true this is.
One of my goals is to win this tourny on the straight and narrow.
I wonder why some winners aren't at weight in on Sunday when there name is announced. I'd be there for it, than again I dont cheat.

Unfortunaitley you are correct there are probably guys that will have fish on ice tommorrow night, but it is only $10.00 and it goes to the Lions club so I don't mind entering plus it's still fishing.
Weight wise it will probably take 50+ to win. I can tell you this the guys who won last year also won the Labadie tourney in May out of Hoyles those guys can catch fish I would look at them to repeat.

the bobble-eyes at the craft store would give it some movement.

Don't be afraid to look very shallow off Finn Rd. Big fish there every year up in 2 feet. Would have won it one year fishing there but, a writer buddy that works for In-fish dumps a 10+ pounder over board moving it from back to front livewell. It was within Min. of coming in and we had to replace with a 3#, so it cost us 7# and first.
