I'm gonna be buying some powerpro braided line to put on my reels. I wanted to know if the color of the line really does make a difference? Which color either moss green or yellow would you guys rather fish with, and which one is less visible to the fish?
For my second question, do you guys tie a mono or flouro leader to your braided lines when casting lures for bass, or do you just tie the lure directly to the braid? I don't think that the braid will really turn the fish off, and I'd rather not put a leader on, but I'd like some opinions. Thanks.

Green is less visible to the fish. For a finesse presentation I'd use a mono or fluorocarbon leader.
I use gree Power Pro. The 20# is as thin as 6# mono, how stealty do you want to get? the 10# is like 2# mono, these old eyes hate it. I hate fishingf it in the wind because of tip wraps....

I personally cannot stand power pro. I can't set the hook with it. Go with spider wire stealth or fireline. I only use a leader in the clearest water or around rocks and zebras. If you're going to go with power pro then choose the green. It can actually blend in with the weeds. For St. Clair this weekend you won't need a leader.

I like spiderwire stealth alot. It seems smoother on my open face than powerpro or stren.
Hi-Vis yellow is great for jigging and draggin crawlers.
Use what works for you. Cost-wise, style-wise, fish-wise.

I was thinking of trying spiderwire stealth as well, maybe i'll get both and try 'em out and see which one I like better. I was planning on getting 8 and 10 lb test for my spinning reels...

The main problem I have with power-pro when it is tied directly to the lure is that it wraps around the hooks when casting and especially when working a jerkbait since it is so limp. I run a 4ft flouro leader to offset this as well as to eliminate line visibility. As far as not being able to set the hooks- I can't fish with anything other than braid anymore b/c of the line stretch of mono. Plus 50lb test in 10lb diameter has saved me several lures when fishing heavy cover...
ohh- the green colour will fade pretty fast to an off-white since the spectra fibers will not hold a permanent dye. just buy a sharpie and make the line any cover you want (at least for a little while).

Green or Chartruese line both fade to white so you could beat the system buying white power-pro. Great line and basically the same as the stealth. You don't need any type of mono or flouro leader with it. I run senko's tied directly to 30lb.

stealth is the best braid ive ever tried. i fish the grand for salmon and steelies all the time with it ,12lb , and use maxima 8lb for a leader and it almost always comes back. ive used the same 3/8 oz bell sinker for 3 days.:fish:
