Holmes pheasant farm is in Otter Lake just north of Lapeer. It's $18 a bird and no membership fee. The cover is excellent and it is a challenging hunt. The birds there fly real well, that can be a problem at some of these places. If the birds are reared in pens that are obly 6 feet high that is about as high as they will fly when flushed.

I hunted Rips a few years ago. My lab caught about 4 of the 10 birds we had released. We had trouble hooking up with the people the morning of the hunt, and thier wasn't many spots to hunt. They put 4 of us on a 50 acre field. This was about 5 years ago when they first got started so maybe things have changed over the years. I have always liked the Rooster Ranch, but I think they are getting a little pricey.

Nice birds SFK.
Like I said it was when they just got started, so I am sure they just had to iron some things out and I'm sure it took awhile to aquire some more land.
