Magnet
01-30-2002, 05:03 PM
A few years ago, my friends that I would fish against in our little private tournaments, would say that the fish would somehow home in on my boat like a "magnet". They said that it gives me an unfair advantage (everyone needs an excuse). From that point forward, they started calling me "Cap'n Magnet". Well that is all they will call me on the radio now, so I don't really have a choice.
Name painted on the boat - Loon Song
Name given to me on the radio - Cap'n Magnet
I keep it in my driveway during the fishing season.
Mostly launch at Grindstone, Augres and Oscoda.
Magnet :)
Port; Pole Barn. Fish mainly Oscoda.
Boat name; Bungee II.

Radio name: HOTWIRED (Channel #68)
Port: Garage in Roseville
Launch: St.Jean, Metro and now New Jefferson Launch
Boat: 1996 16ft. White Grumman with "HOTWIRED" on sides.
30HP Evinrude with 6HP Evinrude Kicker.
Boat is customized for handlining, jigging & trolling. Also has a 28lb thrust bow mount to keep "Dafishkid" happy for bass.
Best thing I ever did was switching to a 4 blade at the advice from "Carl's". Boat gets on plane quick and hits 25mph in a 1ft chop with 2 guys.
Please don't hesitate to give me a call on the radio, I'm usually on the fish (walleye) and I'm out ther every Saturday & Sunday morning and 1 or 2 evenings during the week.

Knockoff , Thanks for the welcome . I have been reading this site for a while now and just figured out how to post . I know , must be a Rocket Scientist , right ? I love to fish for Winter Steel on The Joe . I have been doing that for many yrs. I have friends that live and fish in Mi. that I try to hook up with as much as I can . There aren't many / any places near The Windy City that can compare to The Joe for action and size of fish . I love that river . I also know that Cooks is BAD TO THE BONE in the spring .
I look forward to many more great reports and topics like I have been seeing here in the future .
Thanks again
