Those are really good pic's, Are those cranes? Thats the cool part of the wild life cams, you never know what your going to get in the pic's.

Yep, Sandhill Cranes to be exact. I had been scattering an oat/corn/molasses mix for the deer, but the cranes apparently felt entitled to their own share of the bounty. Neat to have them in there.

That bear cub was eating grass I presume. I have other bear pics from that same spot eating grass - no bait put out by me, just the salt lick for deer. I think it may have been oat grass from previous deer baits but am not sure.

I'd be looking for that white patched bear this year if you have a permit! Nice pics. I've never really seen so many bears use an open area in a "big woods" setting.... in daylight. Have to keep that in mind for my next bear season.

Wherever you put out the bait, that's where they will go. I had a permit that year (2004) and I did, indeed, look for him. The first picture should give you an idea of the outcome. The second picture is from Ontario last fall.
