to many? nope don't think there is such a thing unless your using poison.not sure why you aren't seeing anything, wind direction?what makes you think there are coyotes on that piece of property?there are a lot of factors carl

I don't think you could ever shoot to many yotes. Pile em up like cord wood.:D

You can never shoot enough coyotes, that is why there is no limit. Fact is there are very few people (relative to population) who hunt or trap coyotes, and their reproduction rate far exceeds what few we take.

Maybe im wrong on thinking this because im new to the coyote hunting thing, I have only been out a hand full of time in 2 years. I know the damage they do with all the game birds and other animals but if we shoot over a set limit won't we loss something we like to hunt and trap.

Don't bet me up on this it's just a question I guess I think this is considerd a game animal and it to needs to be managed

Thanks mike

you have a deer hunters mentallity.there are species like deer that can be wiped out. there are other species like possums, coons, and coyotes that can't be wiped out no matter how hard you try. they will prosper and survive don't worry about killing to many.
beside there is not enough people after them to even manage the population much less wipe it out.unless coyote pelt prices go to $90 or better there won't be a concern carl

Coyotes don't need to be managed there is no need for a season on them. Kill all you want a bitch coyote will make more lol. If you kill the coyotes out of an area there will be as many coyotes if not more the next year. Kill em all let the furbuyer sort them out. Wileykiller

Big Buck it sounds like your friend has a skill for calling and finding the yotes.
Did you guys weigh that beast? Thats an excellent dog, maybe worth a full body mount. Bucktail I read your comment about "piling em up like chord wood" I agree with you they are a renewable resource but I hope no anti's read that, they could run a mile with the verbage. Remember numbers fluctuate based on food source and habitat, however yotes and roach's just seem to adapt better than others. I think we would have to all place a concerted effort to wipe them out with hunting and habitat destruction you know the concrete jungle (where the anti's live) .

Well I got two pictures of the yote but have not had good luck on posting them not real sure how to do it. The total weight was 44 3/4lbs a nice dog. So since he has 5 mounted already and 7 more on the way he gave me this one so Im going to mout it my self.

But the real kick in the ***** is I got a chance to go out with him hunting and I have said it here before here and some people think it is BULL SH#! WELL ITS NOT THIS PERSON IS A POACHER and I will tell you way. He asked me to go yote hunting with him so I said sure why not I not seeing sh#! so we go out and pull off on the shoulder on 96 he says get out load your gun and fallow me. we walk back about 30 yards in the wood and I see a pile of road kill and shot DEER and I say were did thes deer come from and he said the road and I shot them now I know that the weather is a little cold some days and DEER SEASON was almost a month and half ago but these deer were in good shape for being dead for that long I know the were poached. That is why he is doing so good

Big Buck sorry to hear that this person is a violator. I do know people who find deer carcus in the woods and hunt near the carcas. I suppose the name of the game is learning how to call them in, you know match wits with the wiley buggers. You may want to address this issue with the violator, he cheapens hunting. Big Buck I believe your intuition concerning management and doing things the right way will serve you well. Longbow 32

Is it totally legal or is it legal to hunt coyotes over bait. I thought that baiting was illegal ?

I believe what tanker was trying to say is, is it totally legal or is it illegal to bait the yotes (just a typo!). I agree with the others on this site. Too many yotes? Never heard of that one. It seems like you kill some (even though I haven't) and you end up seeing more and more. Kind of like the squirrels around here...you kill what seems to be a lot and the female squirrel keeps popping more out like a production line! Good luck hunting the yotes. I'm just starting.
