and Make Camping Reservations Now

With warm, spring weather moving in, the Department of Natural Resources officials are encouraging campers to make reservations now for summer camping plans.

Camping reservations remain available in many locations. Contact the call center at 1-800-447-2757 or log onto www.midnrreservations.com (http://www.midnrreservations.com/). A report identifying parks and recreation areas with campsite availability for Memorial Day weekend will be posted shortly to aid in making holiday plans.

“Camping reservations are up 1.5 percent for the summer compared to last year at this time,” said Ron Olson, chief of the Parks and Recreation Division. “I don’t want people to miss their opportunity to make Michigan memories this year.”

Thirty-five state parks and recreation areas will have the same nightly rates as in 2005. Budget-conscious campers should put these locations at the top of their list for possible camping options:
