Friday Evening Non-Catching Report-Trenton Channel

Went out Friday evening with wife & 2 boys. Put in at Elizabeth Park and fished the usual holes-and a couple others for 2 hours. Water conditions good. Not a bump & never saw anyone else catch any either. Talked to probably 10 other boats, one boat (2 guys) out from 9:00 AM-7:30 PM had 7. One boat out 3:00-7:30 had 4, one out 3:00-7:30 had 2, everybody else 0.

I hit the water at just after 7pm. Did one drift to the east side of the channel to stay away from boats. (New trolling motor, getting used to). stayed in 12-13' most of the way down. Slipped into about 16' and missed 3 fish in short time. Set up the handline about 9 pm. Boated 2 fish and lost 2 others right at the boat by just after 10 pm in front of Calf Island. Fish were right on the break from 12' to the 18' dropoff. All 4 fish came from almost the exact same spot. 2 on clown rapala top lead, 2 off metalic purple pencil plug bottom lead. Both last on the pencil plug (will be replacing the hooks today).
