what is the launch fee at Luns peir?
Do they have minnows and crawlers?

you could launch at bolles harbor and get crawlers at Erie Party Shop....also will give your partner a chance to get an Ohio license.....sounds like the fishing is too close to the border for someone to take a chance. launching at Bolles is only a couple of minute longer run.

not sure about the Luna Pier launch.....never used it before.

Actually wanted to try Breast bay but can't get a report.
Will probably end up at Bolles, I prefer the Launch at Sterling, bath houses and fish cleaning table ,
I will be on 68 ,moonlighting

My buddya and I fished this morning, casting the first line in at 7:30am. We did not do well. Drifed between the Toledo Light an Turtle Island for a while, lost one nice one at the boat, using a blade bait, and that was it.

We didn't see another net even grabbed. I thought the water color was off, definitely a brown green, I really like the clean stuff.

Here is a satellite shot from 2:14 pm this afternoon. You can see the puke running right into where we were fishing.

We trolled around for a while, marking tons of bait, a few fish, but no takers.

I only saw one group at the launch that had 9 fish. They were using Cicada's and didn't get a hit until 8:30am.

How did everyone else do?

2 man limit in about 20 minutes once we found them....on blade baits. between Little Cedar Point and Toledo Light.

Three of us pulled 11 fish from 7:30 to 10:30, and then left the area to do some trolling.

We pulled ours on chrome/purple blade baits. It was very tough out there this morning for most. Our trick was to keep the bow mount in the water, and as soon as someone got a hit or a fish, we would hold our position and every one would start to cast to the same spot. We pulled 4 of our fish from one small spot as fast as we could cast.

We trolled Breast Bay for an hour and a half with 1 white bass being caught.

I'll be back out Monday and Tuesday. Give me a shout.

I was out there all day, tried to reach you guys on the radio. Fished Detroit light, Banana dike, Stoney point. Had three strikes. Hooked up with a hog,
8#+ threw the hook. Looked like he hit the slider spoon, hooks are mighty small . Marked a lot of bait and a few fish, water was very clean , a few streaks of mud near the light house.
We were on the shake down cruise, my GPS is not working we did not want to fool with the single hook zone, and I had a non-Ohio licenced mate on board.

Believe it or not, jstfish48162 and I drifted south of the Toledo Light today. There were 2-4 foot waves, then they went to 3-5's. Two drift socks were not enough. Jstfish48162 schooled me today with the blade baits. He took 4 fish and missed a couple more. I took none. That's right, none. I had a couple of hits and let me tell you, you have to be quick or they are gone.

I did learn a few things about fishing the blade baits. Water was like looking at a cup of coffee with two creamers.

We got soaked going out, right into the big waves. Thank goodness for the extra rain gear.

I look forward to fishing with Brian again soon.

We went 4 for 6 on Sat. Fished for about 6 hours or so. We fished right on the boarder (no ohio license) and caught 3 fish there in about 1 hour. 2 of them went 24'' nice looking fish. The other was a nice eater at about 17''. Then we tried different spots and caught one more that was sub par. It was a great day to be out there. I talked to the DNR officer on the ramp and he said not many people were doing that great. We didn't see anybody else out there hook up. I'm sure there were more than a few that got their limit. I wish we would have gotten a one dayer, looked like a lot of boats in Ohio.

went out saturday to the group of boats a couple of miles out between bolles and luna pier. did not get a hit and did not see a net go in the water in the 3 hours that we stayed with the group. moved to shallower water in front of luna pier and got one 17" walleye, two sheephead, one silver bass, and a goby. bite stopped when the wind shifted to the west. we were jigging and running bottom bouncers. face hurt next day with sun and wind burn  . small price to pay.

what a ride out, eh Brian? thank goodness you had extra rain gear in the boat. the ONLY reason we even went out is because i knew the fish were there. those windy conditions and that nasty chocolate milk we called lake erie on Sunday would have made most stay home....actually it did. saturday there were atleast 300 boats within sight of where we fished.....Sunday there were 10....counting us. better coditions and we would have duplicated saturdays 2-man limit in 20 minutes.

thanks again for the ride out hunt4ever....we'll have to hook up again when the 'eyes are in my home waters.
