As much as I wanted to go Perchin today, I couldn't venture out knowing the the Walleye bite is on in the river. I awoke at 5 AM to lightning and thunderstorms so we waited for them to pass. Jr and I set lines at approx 9 AM in pretty dirty water by the sand piles and although we caught a couple fish and had multiple bites, we decided to move on. Only went a short distance to the high rise and cottage area and picked up our limit in pretty short order. After that, we played around for a bit releasing fish and trying new tactics. And for you that know Paul, no he didn't outfish me. I had to put my rod down for awhile to let him catch up. OK, I'll fess up. He had 8 lb Maxima and I had 6 lb Seaguar's and it definitely made a difference. Once we switched rods, he smoked me for a bit till I switched my rig to floro. Anyway, it was a fun trip and a great way to start out 06 with a limit of good eaters. BTW, I saw one of our Canadian members, Castmaster. Good job on the fish and a pleasure meeting you. Here is a pic of our catch.

Nice going John & Paul! I will be making my 1st voyage of the year tomorrow out of Alter. Did you have to use a kicker over there?
See ya on the water.

As far as the line difference, it could have been a coincidence but it did happen that way.
Dave, I had the 15' Smokercraft down there today and my 30 hp was in and out of gear constantly. Be back tomorrow! :)
