I did not get out today (thanks to work), but my friend and his wife made it out. Same place we were at Monday and Tuesday, and he said they still got their limits in less than an hour, and upgraded many more fish.
They stopped on a little 15 foot hump in MI waters on the way in and caught two more for their full MI limit.
This weekend is looking great for Saturday.

We fished in Michigan water, just off Turtle Island, and caught a three man limit in 2 hours. Total number was 22 fish, many under sized males. Silver/Red and Gold/Black blade baits. 11-13 foot of water. The wind was brisk out of the west but laid down towards dusk. Must of the boats were in Ohio water, just southwest of the Toledo Light House.
I'll be out Sunday, weather permitting.

We have been getting a lot of undersized ones too. I would like to know if they are 2003 year class growning slow, or from 2004, and growning fast.

I was supposed to be leaving for the lake right now but there are some big storms in the area so we're waiting on that crap to get out of the way.:dizzy:

I just checked the radar myself. I don't want to go put gas in the car if it's raining:D It looks like they are rolling through pretty fast, but they have a lot of red in them. It will be a couple of hours yet before the lake is clear.
Give me your numbers again in a PM, and we will set something up for next week.
Bolodunn.....Mike has my number. Just call me and I'll direct you to where I'm at. Of course, that's if I'm catching anything. If not, I'll be following you!!

Leaving for the lake right now! Hope to have my limit shortly :D
we got a 3 man limit yesterday from 4-6pm drifting between the lighthouse and turtle island. scooted over into michigan waters and managed 3 more but it took longer than we hoped.
chartreuse hair jigs and minnows with stinger. nothing over 20 inches and only a couple that required measurement.
fishing picked up when the wind died down a little.

Got a 2 man limit no problem today! Im embaresed to say that i went 13 for 28. Thats right i hooked 28 walleye today and only managed to get 13 of them in. The fish were hitting so hard that i couldn't set the hook on them. I caught the first 2 fish of the day with in the first 10 minutes. We fished right up next to the toledo light in 19 fow. Both fish were caught on a 3/4 oz. fireball jig with a minnow. Then we went to drift between turtle island and the light. The rest of my fish for the day and hits came on a "silver buddy" I had never used a blade bait before but i sure am glad i did now! Unfortunitly we only had one of them so my dad didn't do as well as i did. He went 4 for about 10. 3 of his fish and the 3 biggest of the day came on a bb and crawler harness. All and all what a awesom day! Only caught 1 short fish all day.

First time posting on here guys, honestly I have been enjoying the good information and pictures for a while. I work with a guy who knows capt. jay and he had been telling me how easy it was to catch fish out there. I like dumb fish (the only ones I ever get to eat) ;) so I convinced my buddy to take his boat down there last night. Between the three of us we ended up with 5 nice eaters in about 4 hours of fishing. Now understand, 5 eyes is good, but the boat next to us was limited out shortly after they got there, and one of the 4 people in the boat was about a 13 year old girl.:yikes: I'm not saying we are great fisherman, but all three of us can usually hold our own with anyone. I was throwing a 1/2 once cicada, my dad was jigging, my buddy was jigging, using bottom bouncers, floaters w/ minnows, we tried it all. I know we were moving a bit fast in the wind, but what is the trick out there??? :help: Also, how long will that bite last, 'cause I want to try that again!!!

I was using a 1/2 oz. silver buddy and just dropping it down to the bottom and jiggin. I couldn't keep the walleyes off of it. We also were moving fast and i think that helped out.

went today (saturday) and once we found the fish, we had a limit (2 men) in about 20 minutes. caught 4 PIGS....over 28" each....let them go to spawn and replaced them with 18" to 20"ers.
we used 3/8 ounce blade baits....silver with blue or purple prism tape on the sides. our method was this.....cast out....let bait hit bottom.....sweep rod slowly (just enough to feel the bait vibrate) and lift off bottom about a foot and tight line it back to bottom....they were SLAMMING IT on the drop. we got away with lighter baits due to lack of wind, so 1/2 ouncers will probably be the ticket with a little more wind. also caught a few on chartreuse/orange as well, but our bread and butter colors were the purple and blue.

Where does everyone put in to get to these grounds and when will this Cicada bite start up, I want to try it for the first time ever. Any advise will be appreciated.

usually luna pier, some guys bolles harbor, guys with small boats launch at the mouth of the maumee but with sw winds it can get shallow quick

You will need to head South East out of Bolles. Here is a link to a map of the area where most guys will be jigging this spring. The lighthouse is marked, and Turtle Island is the small island that the state line is running through. You can zoom in more on the map for better detail. You can also hit the tab up top and make it a nautical chart with depths.

Remember there is an imaginary line between little cedar point and turtle island. No multipoint hooks inside that line.

From now until the middle fo May you are going to have to fish the mud if you fish the shore line , It might take a hour or so to find the fish but when you do look out
