Anyone been catching any walleye off the piers yet? I am boatless so I look forward for this time of the year when they start biting.:D

I fished the Holland pier last weekend, and a guy caught a really big walleye near dusk. I left shortly after, so there may have been more caught.:chillin:

ive caught walleyes inside the channel at grandhaven early in the morning, I would cast my lure along the break wall their and pick them up, just run your lure close to the wall that always worked for me.

Did the pier walleyes ever get good this year? I went out several times and saw only 2 fish caught out of Holland. It was either really slow or something. Went tonight, didnt catch anything, it was very cold and windy. Stuck it out though in hopes of some eyes but nothin. Any Reports??

Hey carpmaster and Books! If it sucks so bad why do we keep going out there every night? lol It has to be the beer:D It is pretty warm today!I m, I think you guys better hit it again tonight. Unfortunetaly I have to spend time with my woman:rolleyes: Come to comedy night at Jacks in grand haven if you don't fish the pier and maybe we can sneek out the back door and catch a few catfish off the docks!

VERY slow going on the piers for the last month with a few fish here and there. Every once in a while I hear of some nice catches, but they are far and few between and never when I have made it out. LOL
The rivers warmed up real fast, shad spawning, and warm Lake MI waters have scattered the fish as opposed to keeping them around the pierheads IMO.

I think Stein hit the nail on the head. Last Friday when he and I were headed out of Grand Haven, the river temp was right at 60 ... plenty warm. I have heard of a few fish taken, by boat, at night, out and around the pierheads.
