Where in Luna Pier is the public ramp?

if you are experienced enough and can handle big water, then you should be O.K. in that boat. i spent 3 years fishing Erie in a 14' Lund Rebel. we had days when we turned around due to rough conditions, but we had days when we went out in 4 to 5 footers and slayed the 'eyes. just be careful and watch the weather and you should be fine. common sense is the key to fishing Lake Erie.....use it and you won't lose it!!!:fish:

I have been running out of Luna Pier for years now. I started in a 14' boat, went to a 16', and now run my 22'. As long as there is no East wind, and sometimes South, you should be OK. I have trolled just a few hundred yards from shore during the summer and caught plenty of walleyes. Just keep an eye on the weather and you should be fine.

By the way, the public ramp at Luna Pier is at the end of the dead end, just past the Luna Pier Harbor Club.

Don't forget to stop and get the daily launch pass ($5.00) or you'll find a nice ticket from the city of Luna Pier on your truck window upon return. We duck hunt out of there, and to be honest, any wind from the west will shove the water out of the channel in a hurry, and getting back to the City ramp can prove quite interesting.

Good fishing!

They have a building just before the launch. It has some envelopes on the door, and a slot. You write out the info on the envelope, put the money in the envelope, and drop it in the slot. They also have a yearly fee that is real reasonable if you are going more than a few times. They also have had a deal with the marina there, that if the dredge hose is across the canal, then you can launch at the marina with the Luna Pier pass. Capnhook
