Can anyone tell me where the Mounds are in Genessee County. According to the DNR web site ATV's are allowed there. I live near Detroit and am looking for a fairly close place to ride. If anyone knows of anywere else near Detroit I sure would like to know.

The Mounds are just North of Flint, in Mt.Morris. There on Mt.Morris Rd. between M-15 and Dort Highway. Not a whole lot trails mainly hills. Lots of dirt bikes on weekends.

WoodenCanoe,

Thanks for the reply. Do you or does anyone else know of a close place to ride near Detroit. How about Ohio...does anyone know if there is anything across the Ohio/Michigan Border?

WEayne National Forrest has 1,000's of acres to ride on and hundred's of miles of trails. i know of a fewm more places to ride on here in Ohio. If you email me i will send you more info. I ride all over Ohio and PA :)

I live 7 miles from the Mounds and ride it about 25-30 times a yr.There is 200 acres to ride.A yearly sticker cost 30$ for resident and a daily pass is 4$ for a resident.7$ for non resident.

The Mounds open from 8am-till dark Mon thru Saturday. On Sundays,it opens at noon till dark.

There is no fee from Dec 15th all the way thru May 15th.

March 15th-May 15th the Mounds only keeps 10 acres open for riding,it is by court order that they must do this.May 15th,they open the rest of the 200 acres and start charging fee's to ride again.

I am a member of MATVA.[Mich all terrain vehicle Assoc.] And also a member of the CCC [Cycle Conservation Club].As a member,I get a yearly booklet of every LEGAL riding area in our State.

Im soon going for my ASI[ATV safety instructor] license and training and look forward to making our sport a safer sport,
Bill
