"fishinggirl",
Are you talking about going fishing at the Stoney Creek Metropark in Macomb County?
Or, are you talking about going fishing on the Stoney Creek which I beleive is somewhere downriver from Detroit?

Remember that Bass, Walleye and Pike are closed on Inland waters right now...
The north dam is a good spot to fish, but mostly for pike and walleyes. Once the season is open you can cast out 1/4 oz Jigs Pink head/white tail and chartruse head and tail. Cast them out from either side of the dam and reel them in slow along the bottom and hope you don't snag anything!
Night Crawlers under a bobber or a golden shiner minnow under a bobber could get you a few nice channel cats ( Pike to just release them right away)
Lastly anywhere from shore you can use worms under a bobber for gills and smaller minnows on a fuzzy chartruse jig under a bobber for Crappies.
There's a wooden fishing dock near the boat launch. Rig up with a sinker and a hook that is pretty good size and bait it with some fresh shrimp from the grocery store and cast it out and let it sit on the bottom. Should catch a few channel catfish that way too!
Let us know how you do!
For those Channel Cats, I would set up about 30 yards south of the south dam.

Stoney Creek MetroPark should have a bunch of Master Angler class Carp. Hook into one of them for some real excitement.

All good advise.
Fishingirl, did you ever get over to Genesee Otter Lake, Muskegon River, Reedsburg Dam, Bell River, Tittawabassee, Secord Lake, or Big Platte Lake yet? If so how did it go?
