Still waiting for that true tropy steelie or stream brown trout, but I'm confident that it will come. But I'm mostly a catch/release fisherman and would like to see the steelie or brown caught again or at least pass on their genes, not to mention that I fish many catch/release areas of streams. So, with reproduction mounts, what are the necessary measurements that should be taken? I understand a picture would be great also. How do these mounts compare to those that were done of real fish? Any pics? Thanks all

Nick

Mark is correct. Length and girth measurements and a couple good close up photos of the fish itself. Especialy try to focus on the markings of a stream brown so they can reproduced closely on your mount. I prefer replicas to skin mounts on trout and salmon. Just make sure your taxidermist is using a high quality reproduction blank. There is a big difference between the quality levels such as mouth interior detail, scale detail and fin thickness. I have many photos in my gallery and and my website as well. Let us know if you have anymore questions.
