what is the correct way to run 2 gas lines, I have A single line coming out of my gas tank..I've been told to use A water seperator/fuel filter with 2 inlets and 2 outlets and to plug 1 inlet and have A primer bulb for each motor. I have also heard of just putting A "T" in the line w/ A primer bulb for each motor. I have A 60 horsepower johnson 2-stroke oil injected and A 9.9 yamaha 4-stroke. Any help would be great as I only want to do this once...thanks

you'll need a check valve. otherwise the big motor will suck gas/air from the kicker line.
What type of boat. internal tank? if so check the tank. you may have two fitting on the tank. most are set up for one OB or two OB's (same tank)

Just remember that the number one reason for a tow in off the water is "ran out of gas", and contaminated gas isnt far behind. Tapping into your main fuel tank for your kicker will resolve neither of these. IF you have it on there jst to troll with, and not as a backup power source, not a big deal. Just something to think about.

I am going thru the same situation. Recently had a kicker mounted and the shop just teed it off. Problem I am having is hesitation on the big motor on the top end. I have a 47 gl tank so I installed a water seperator and an anti-siphon as Ed mentions. I will take it out this weekend to see if this solved my hestitation problem. I hope it was just getting a little air and thats it. I'll post if problem solved.

After I would kill the kicker and fir up the main motor....it would idle fine...but when given gas...sputter and sometime stall.....would fire right back up and do the same....I could just flutter the throttle some....then it would come around...and be just fine!....I knew what it was doing....but I knew I was redoing everything over the winter...so I just dealt with it!!......for this season...I have to run seperate gas tanks due to main motor being 2-stroke and new kicker being a 4-stroke.......maybe when I win the lotto....I'll get a new main motor!! LOL

went to the local marine dealer today and bought a 2 way switch, the same type as the older pick up trucks had with dual tanks. I was told by the machanic that this is the most fool proof way to go, I just need to have A primer bulb for each motor after the switch . I was also told that my kicker fuel pump might struggle to pull fuel thru the water seperater to the motor. this is what I'm going to try. thanks for the posts ....Bring on the walleyes!!!

You will be fine doing it that way. I have not had a problem doing the same thing. Good luck!
