I am putting in a new floor and going to be wiring the boat while do that. First question, when is the best time to but carpet in, to cover the screws holding down the floor. And do i put the floor in sections, to accomidate the steering and throdel wires????
Also looking for a guy to do the wiring??? I will supply all the wire and toggle switches to do the job. I have a new Consol that has to be rigged for Action.

I can't speak for all boats, but on my last boat (a Tracker) the floor panels were carpeted and then screws were driven through the carpeting into the joists.

If you're at all mechanically inclined and know DC, I would do the wiring yourself. The guy that installed it isnt going to be miles offshore when a fuse blows or whatever. The better you know your system, the better, In my opinion, plus, I know I do it right. I've seen some dealer jobs that are done as fast as possible, and arent that great.
