Hey guys were gonna do a float on saturday and sunday on the ausable looking for some steel, just wondering if anyone knew what the float times are from Rea Road to the whirl pool. We were also thinking whirl pool to the mouth.....I was leaning to the first float though.....rea to the whirl pool. Thanks!
P.S. Its a drift boat so we will be at the mercy of the water flow and won't be able to motor down or upstream to speed things up.....I've done some floats that have been very big and slow water that took forever.

hard fishing= 8-9 hours rea rd to whirlpool. quickest I've ever done it was 5 hours.
whirlpool to mouth about the same. better to pull out at river rd ($5) the wind in the afternoon on the lower stretch is a pain. it always seems to blow upstream and the current isnt a quick(river widens).
good luck, the fishing isnt hot, but theres a few around.

Sprig,
Thanks for the information. I think were gonna do the first float. I don't care if theres no fish in the river, I got very used to catching nothing after the winter I had.......just as long as I can be on the river with a good cigar I will be happy.

the upper float is by far the most scenic and enjoyable. i know you like to trap so i guarantee all day long your going to be drooling at all the great places to make a set and wishing you could have a .22 in the boat for all the furred critters you'll see. minks, rats, beaver etc.
