you out there ? I've got a question for you. I've got a '91 Merc 90hp ELPTO and it doesn't have a tach. I'd like to put a tach in so that I can experiment with some different prop pitches. I've found a good deal on a brand new one on ebay but I'm not so sure that it will work. It says that it'll work with all 12V six pole alternators. I also found another one that's similar but this one says that it's compatible with twelve to twenty pole alternators. I was going to call Merc today but got busy and forgot. Do you have any idea what type of alternator my Merc may have ? Unfortunately, the auction ends in about 90 minutes but there's anoter one running for about another six days. If it looks like it'll work, I'll bid on that one.
