PETA just protested here in Escanaba at the KFC.
This is what's good though.
There were like 2 PETA members,
But there were about 100 ANTI PETA protesters all with signs.
It made their silly demonstration exactly that.
Silly.

I had a bunch of friends in it. The radio station 106.3 kind of jump started it to the point of getting a bunch of people out there.
I don't hve pics, but am looking for thur/fri paper to get the link on here.
I had to go out of town and caught a view of it on the way back into town from business. Thought it was pretty funny, turn out was so much more on the Anti Peta's.
Then I saw one sign that said....PETA please come bck Nov. 15th.
I'll post them when found.

Thanks Gilbey.
Is the radio station 106.3 the one what plays country music? They used to have some good disc jockeys there, but we left the area in 1979, so no doubt there have been some changes; well, lots of changes probably.

Most popular country is 94.7 and 100.7. They're both pretty decent but don't know anyone on there.
106.3 was previously hard/alternative metal that is now top 40 related:bloos:
BUT!!! I do like and know the guys that own it.
I believe that it's 100.7 that does the annual deer tallies and has some good coverage on the live check ins, not totally positive it's 100 though. (I should know!! My son was live last year when we checked the 9er in.)
Problem with finding this newspaper article on line is that they archive nothing. I either hve to go buy it from them direct or find someone that has it. I guess they want to charge me the extra .50 for not having enough content  I never buy their paper cuz normally it's junk.

PETA just doesn't get it. Coming to the U.P. to spread their propaganda is like going to Green Bay in Lions colors. It just doesn't happen. Or should I say you are outnumber by almost 1000 to 1.
Anyhow I'm glad people showed their dislike for peta. I wish I was off so I could have went.
I'll take my KFC extra crispy. Peta's tactics backfired. They gave KFC free advertising. Thanks PETA. :dizzy:

"PETA has had high-profile support from Nobel Peace Prize winner His Holiness the Dalai Lama, rock icons Sir Paul McCartney and Chrissie Hynde, actors Pamela Anderson and Bea Arthur, and civil rights leaders The Rev. Al Sharpton, Alice Walker, Kweisi Mfume, Dick Gregory, and Dr. Cornel West."
Wow, whata bunch to have supporting you. Not the most illustrious group that I would want supporting my cause.

Nothing on the local news tonight on TV about it.
Up here, we eat meat! We like meat! We'll continue to eat meat!

One celebrity name missing from that list is Jason Alexander, AKA George Castanza from "Seinfeld" who is a big PETA anti-KFC loser.
The Lansing State Journal reported several weeks ago that the PETA youth recruiter, a 19-year-old male, had his name legally changed to "www.KFCcruelty.com". Now I ask you, who would be impressed by this young man who introduced himself with that name and said "I'm a recruiter and my goal is to influence you to follow my value system"? His parents must be proud.

Legal name changes should only be allowed once in a lifetime, it weeds out the idiots.

Michihunter,Thanks for that link! That was AWESOME!
They do it because they know people will talk about it and it will get some sort of coverage, good or bad, they don't care. They got the word out and it makes their members in other areas even more gung HO!
If I saw that, I would have bought a couple of buckets and passed them around so everyone could eat in front of them.
And know we did it just for them- they were somehow responsible for the demise of a few chickens.
Now I am hungry......I LOVE KFC
