First time to Fletcher's

I am heading to Fletcher's Pond on Fri. the 25th. Never fished there before! Any suggestions where to start or should I just rent a shanty from Jack's landing where we are staying. I'm taking my wife with me for the first time on ice, who on thursday night miscounted the number of steps coming down from upstairs ( forgot about the last two and now has a badly sprained ankle) and ended up in the emergency room. I may be pulling her out to our fishing spot on a sled along with all are equipment, so if any of you could lead me to a decent spot so as not to give myself a heart attack I would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like the shanty would be more comfortable get one that the door opens out towards the river channel our drop work's for me, a tip up set in sight of the open door, insight could mean about 15ft.

1st step out of anything will be tough but the cold will take the swelling down.
