Not much of a deer hunter but was out running my dogs today and came across this buck rub. At least I think it's a buck rub. It was almost 5 feet off the ground. Any ideas or explanations?

you might want to become a deer hunter because you got yourself a big one running around... thats a good/ great size deer if it is 5ft of the ground.

The picture is not very big but it looks like there is a branch intact maybe something was eating the barK:confused: Is it on a hillside?

Interesting picture in any case tanks for sharing!

Seems awfully high to be a buck rub! Although I am not really sure what else it could be.

I would say that is an Elk rub if you are in Elk country.Way to high off the ground to be a rub from a deer.

If you look at the center of aka rub in pic #2 there is a spot that does look like a gnaw mark from earl the squirrl, the tree may have been very dry and crled in the weather.

But it may have been an Elk, or UFO it's definitly unique.
